Industry Insight with Steve Price

Posted 18th January 2010

Welcome to the Industry Insights section of B-Hive. Over the next few months we will be interviewing some of Birmingham’s most successful PR, Marketing, Creative and Digital professionals – the B-Hive employers!

First up is Steve Price, Partner at Unsuitable who is answering three key questions.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The thing I enjoy most about working in this industry is its diversity.

I get to meet people from all walks of life from a student one day to a Managing Director the next and meeting new people keeps it interesting. I definitely like the variety of our projects, as at Unsuitable we work across both conventional design and digital work.

I personally would find it incredibly boring if I continually did the same work for a particular sector. I love the fact that I get to work with all sorts of businesses from small, owner operated to the bigger companies.

How do you see the design sector growing in the next five years?

The design industry will have to continue to innovate particularly in developing content and applications for mobile phones.

There is so much that you can do with these modern, smart phones that it is definitely a consideration when designing a website or looking at it from an advertising perspective.

Whilst working in this position what’s the most important thing you’ve learnt?

Say yes and worry about it later!

We’re interviewing Kelly Edmonds from Willoughby PR next. If you have any questions that you’d like to ask Kelly then please direct message them to our B-Hive twitter at twitter.com/b_hive
